The arboretum was founded in 1892 by Dr. Štefan Ambrózy-Migazzi. It is located in Vieska nad Žitavou. Thanks to the area of 67 ha and the number of plant species from the whole world it belongs to the biggest arboretum in the Central Europe. The Arboretum is adorned by a manor house, which is the seat of the arboretum management and there is also a small museum.
This place consists of five parts and an own tree nursery where you can buy trees, bushes or flowers. Ambrozy´s Park, the oldest part of the Arboretum, is located right behind the manor house. Other parts are devoted to dendroflora areas of East Asia and North Amerika. There is also a separate Slovak part. The road from the entrance up to the manor house is flanked by flowers and roses.
Arboretum is opened all year long. Visitors can choose between three nature trails with sophisticated information system. Arboretum is breathtaking especially in spring and autumn, when rhododendrons and azaleas are in blossom.
